Weekend Relief Manager

Position Summary

In the absence of the resident manager, the weekend relief resident manager is responsible for the Ronald McDonald House management operations. This position handles the well-being of resident families, provides adequate oversight of the physical structure and contents of the House and manages any emergencies that might arise. This person reports to duty at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and is available until the Resident Manager arrives on duty at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Job Requirements (included physical requirements if applicable) 

Ability to interpret, summarize and prepare information for management review, such as Incident Reports, Daily Room Guide and any other information that needs to be reported to the House Manager or Executive Director. Work effectively with volunteers to promote an atmosphere of warmth and understanding among families. Follow established emergency protocols and apply appropriate crisis management with independent judgment as necessary. Manage the House’s regular operations including but not limited to:

  • Registration of guest and room assignments.
  • Welcome and orientation of guest to the House covering policies and procedures.
  • Collection and recording of guest donations.
  • Monitor residents’ behavior and manage issues as necessary.
  • Report resident grievances to Executive Director.
  • Supervision of guest check-out.
  • Conduct House Tours.
  • Be sensitive to families in difficult or crisis periods.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personal and/or protected health information regarding House guest and/or related parties.
  • Open the House on scheduled weekend duty.
  • Communicate effectively with hospital staff.
  • All other duties assigned by management.

Housekeeping

  • Oversees housekeeping to make sure rooms are cleaned to RMHC standards.
  • Informs House Manager or Facility Manager of any needed facility repairs.
  • In the absence of the housekeeper, keeps kitchen clean and hallways mopped.
  • Does laundry as needed.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently require to sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally require to walk, use hands and fingers to fee, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with the hands or arms.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or more up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and far acuity, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications/Skills

Education Requirements

  • Five-10 years of work experience.
  • High School diploma, some college preferred

Development Director

Position Summary

The primary responsibilities of the Development Director are to plans, direct, and coordinate/execute the full spectrum of fund development programs activities, in support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tulsa: major and annual giving, special events, capital campaigns, planned giving and other fund development activities that generate operational and long-term revenue streams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Development Director will share with the Executive Director and the board of directors the responsibility for financial and resource development, and sustainability of the organization by developing and implementing fundraising initiatives to raise the annual operating budget and develop long-term sustainability.

Job Requirements

With the President/CEO, plan and execute a comprehensive annual and long-term development plan to meet the financial goals of RMHC of Tulsa. This includes, but is not limited to preparing budgets; developing systems to research, cultivate and steward prospective and existing donors; and enhancing RMHC of Tulsa relationships with community leaders resulting in financial support.

  • Oversees all special events.
  • Oversees all electronic and print solicitation campaigns or mediums, including writing fundraising copy for collateral materials.
  • Plans and conducts presentations and solicitations to corporate, civic, and community organizations.
  • Builds a strategy for the conversion of existing donors into long-term, major, and planned gift donors involving all stakeholders.
  • Tracks and examines annual and other revenue streams for implementation in strategic planning.
  • Oversees the RMHC of Tulsa donor database to ensure accurate and current donor records.
  • Manages the identification, development, writing, and stewardship of grant proposals with the President/CEO.
  • Creates a structure for grants management, tracking, and prioritization.
  • Oversees a planned giving program.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative relationships with all staff, volunteers, donors and stakeholders.
  • Respects the privacy and the confidentiality of all guest and agency information.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the President/CEO.
  • In all instances, serves as an ambassador for RMHC of Tulsa, appropriately communicating the mission, values, and purpose of the organization.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

This position requires resourcefulness, grant writing experience, the ability to identify and research prospects, plan initiatives, organize priorities, develop and execute major and planned giving strategies, and work with donor databases.

  • Minimum of five years of related work experience, including knowledge of marketing and public relations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Proven successful grant writing outcomes.
  • Knowledge of non-profit fundraising fundamentals.
  • Highly productive team player who will build strong and mutually beneficial relationships between the staff, donors, volunteers and external audiences.
  • Knowledge of community resources and contacts.
  • Respect for diverse cultures and ability to work and interact with all types of people.
  • Strategic thinker.
  • Demonstrates ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, keep organized, and demonstrate careful attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

  • Pursue opportunities for professional development to become or remain a certified fundraising executive (CFRE).
  • Knowledgeable about Exceed donor database and Foundation Search prospect research program is a plus.
  • Non-profit organization experience preferred.
