First Annual Pro Am Golf Tournament Raises Money for RMHC of Tulsa

Rodgers and Hammerstein must have had the RMHC of Tulsa’s First Annual Pro Am Golf Tournament in mind when they wrote the lyrics “Oh, what a beautiful morning! Oh, what a beautiful day!” featured in Oklahoma! On Monday, April 24, 2017, the weather set a spectacular backdrop for the golf tournament, which was held at the beautiful Cedar Ridge Country Club.

As with any fundraiser or charity event, numbers speak volumes. The support for RMHC of Tulsa was evidenced by the participation in the golf tournament with 108 golfers forming 27 teams, 2 tour pros (Honorary Chair Bo Van Pelt and Willie Wood), 27 local pros, 38 various sponsors (thank you to our Presenting Sponsor Metro Appliances & More), 3 delicious food stations, and countless volunteers. The shamble-style golf tournament, which was graciously chaired by Geoff and Amy Nielsen, showcased a VIP Clinic, a Red Shoe Society Putting Contest, the Bo Drive and Willie Wood Wonder Putt contests, and the popular Stock Your Bar raffle. Due to everyone’s fine efforts, RMHC of Tulsa is proud to have netted over $77,000. Incredibly, the funds raised will support hundreds of children (and their families) traveling to Tulsa to be treated for serious illnesses and injuries.

No matter how big or small your contribution, thank you to each and every golf tournament participant!  RMHC of Tulsa, and the families it serves, greatly appreciate your financial support. We hope to see you and your golfing buddies next year at the Second Annual Pro Am Golf Tournament! Can’t wait that long to get involved?  We hope you’ll join us at one of our upcoming events:  the Red Shoe Shindig on June 1 or the McDazzle Fun Ball on October 5.
