Honorarium and Memorial Gifts

Honorarium gifts that recognize a personal achievement or milestone (like a birthday, wedding or anniversary) are a great way to support the House. You can also make a memorial gift to honor the memory of a loved one. A letter will be sent to the person of your choice, notifying them of the gift.

A few cents added to an order or a coin dropped in a box might not feel like much. But when millions of McDonald’s customers give at thousands of restaurants around the world, those coins add up to help hundreds of thousands of families with hospitalized children. In 2019, over $27 million US dollars in small change was donated by McDonald’s customers alone.

In the U.S., every time you visit a McDonald’s restaurant, choose “Round-Up for RMHC” when you order on the kiosk or ask to “Round-Up” your total at the counter or drive-thru. You may also drop spare change in the RMHC Donation Boxes in restaurants or drive thru. Both fundraising programs are available year-round in most U.S. restaurants. Outside the U.S., most McDonald’s restaurants have options to donate to RMHC, including Donation Boxes for spare change or kiosks and other options to benefit families served by local RMHC Chapters.

Pop Tab Collecting

Collecting pop tabs is a great way to teach kids about philanthropy and the importance of recycling, as well as raise funds to help children and their families. Schools, service organizations, churches, businesses and individuals collect pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House of Tulsa. Thousands of dollars can be raised each year with pop tab collections!

Why only the tabs?

Well, the tabs are made of different quality aluminum than the cans and are more easily recycled. They are smaller and cleaner than collecting cans. They are also easier for us to handle when receiving large volumes. The amount of money received is determined by the weight of aluminum collected. These pop tabs can make a big impact when collected in numbers. Money received is not credited toward any medical treatment.

How do I participate?

Collecting pop tabs couldn’t be easier! Collect pop tabs until you fill your container, then drop them off at the Ronald McDonald House of Tulsa. Pop tabs may be delivered to the House between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily.

What happens next?

After the tabs are collected, the Ronald McDonald House of Tulsa takes the pop tabs to local recycling centers, where they are weighed to determine their value. The recycling center then sends the Ronald McDonald House of Tulsa a check for the total value.
